Buddy heater and it kept the cab of the truck really warm until it quit functioning, actually quite too warm and I had to keep turning it on and off to maintain a decent temperature. But with this little heater it puts out a good deal of heat, but not so much that it smolders the inside of the cab. I can light it, roll down the windows an inch or so and remain comfortable all day if need be. I really like this little heater and will purchase another for my other truck as well. The only real complaints I have to it is that it is not electric ignition and I have to light it with a lighter. That is not a problem, but I was expecting it to have this feature and was slightly disappointed that it didn't have it. As a matter of fact the first time I used it I set it back outside to try to let some of the odor dissipate before putting it back in the cab of the truck with me. But once the smell burns off and you remember to keep a lighter with you, this heater turns out to be a dandy.
